Timing belts and new big ends are a must on the 4 cyl twin sparks. For the cost of big end bearings (approx ÂŁ30) & a couple of hours work, i'll definately renew them on any other Alfa I buy!! For my sins, I own 2 Selespeeds, one 2.0 manual & one 2.5 V6. The v6 is a dream to drive Eventualy, I want to keep one selespeed, sel lthe rest & buy a 3 2.0 Twin Spark 16V engines - your opinions please. I sold my daily driver just over a month ago so I'm looking to buy a replacement. Just made up some plates that matched the webers and welded them on to the twin spark manifold stubs. Then welded up the injector ports and faced it all on a mill to take any buckling out of it.
